IMSI is a high-tech complement to ICSI (introduction of morphologically selected sperm into the cytoplasm of the egg).
The DAHNO Institute of Reproductive Medicine offers its IMSI procedures in Kyiv and Ukraine.
In IMSI, morphological selection of quality sperm is carried out under powerful and very accurate optical equipment, which magnifies the image by 6300 times. For comparison: magnification with conventional ICSI is x 400 times.
IMSI allows you to see the morphological defects of sperm and select only the highest quality for successful fertilization and increase the likelihood of pregnancy. And the fertilization procedure is exactly the same as in the IVF + ICSI program.
One of the necessary conditions for successful implementation of in vitro fertilization programs is the quality of the sperm used for fertilization. The quality of sperm affects not only the percentage of pregnancy, but also the likelihood of carrying it.
These data, obtained several years ago in the course of a special study by Israeli reproductive specialists, became the basis for the creation of a fundamentally new approach to the selection of spermatozoa - IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection - injection of morphologically selected spermatozoa into the cytoplasm of the egg).
Since 2004, the IMSI method has been actively used by leading fertility clinics around the world, including our clinic. As practice shows, IMSI increases the chances of fertilization in IVF programs up to 70%, even in the most severe cases of male infertility.
IMSI requires very high qualification of embryologists and modern expensive equipment of the embryological laboratory. That is why the IMSI method is currently available only in some Ukrainian clinics. One of them is the Institute of Reproductive Medicine DAHNO.
A number of IVF IMSI factors influence the pricing, the cost depends on the list of services prescribed after diagnosis and examination.
