Diagnosing the causes of infertility begins with a consultation with a reproductive physician. Further examination takes place under his reliable control. For a woman, these are:
- infectious screening (genital infections, smear for flora and cytology)
- ultrasound of the pelvic organs, thyroid and mammary glands
- check the hormonal panel (FSH, LH, prolactin, progesterone, TSH, free T4)
- colposcopy.
For a man, a spermogram is mandatory to determine the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the ejaculate. Additionally, infectious and hormonal screening, MAR-test can be prescribed.
To study the chromosome set of both partners, genetic analysis is carried out - karyotyping.
